AfL Target Bookmarks - Writing, Reading, Maths

(23)
A set of AfL target bookmarks. Write the next target in the space provided. A simple reminder for the children (and yourself) and easily updated as targets achieved. I have laminated mine and fastened them into the books using ribbon - so they don’t get lost!

Self Assessment, AfL, Smiley Face Posters

(17)
As part of Assessment for Learning many classteachers now encourage the children in their classes to assess their own work - have they achieved the lesson objective? Are they happy with their work, or could they do better? The ’smiley faces’ are for display and help reinforce the need to self assess. At the end of each lesson, the children can stamp (or draw) a face and then add the mouth. A smile, a straight line or a wiggly line (personally I don’t like sad faces).

French English MFL jigsaw puzzle

(5)
A great jigsaw puzzle, matching basic French and English words together. Perfect for an independent activity, basic assessment activity, homework task or just a bit of fun! Simply print onto thin card, cut out and ask the children to complete. The puzzle will last much longer if the pieces are laminated and if using more than one set, it may be better to print each puzzle using different coloured card. ~ Mike :0)

How to make a papier mache volcano or mountain

(0)
A clear, step by step, photographic PowerPoint guide on how to make a volcano from junk paper and card. I successfully made this to teach a class of Year 4 children online. It went very well. I am sure that KS2 children can make it independently. KS1 might need some adult support in some ares. I built it around a small plastic water bottle with the idea of using baking soda, vinegar, soap, water and food colouring to simulate an eruption.
