Les animaux is a great song for teaching the French words for animals. The PowerPoint has an embedded MP3 recording of the song, performed by a native French speaker. The song is sung to the tune of Twinkle, twinkle little star so it is easy for children (and you!) to focus on the lyrics. The instrumental version enables karaoke performances. As you listen the the recordings, each line of the song is highlighted, making it easy to follow along.

The e-resource includes reproducible flashcards to help introduce the vocabulary and an English translation.

Animal words taught are: dog, cat, horse, bird, sheep, cow, chicken, pig and donkey and sparrow.

The song is written by Catherine Barlow and was originally published by Brilliant Publications as part of J’aime Chanter.
