<p>Here are 5 complete lessons to introduce the sounds SATP and to learn to read write and blend the sounds.</p> <p>There are five powerpoints also available as videos on youtube. Each one introduces and new sound and practices the sounds already learned. The video demonstrates the activities in the workbook so that the film can be paused while the workbook filled in.</p> <p>The lessons are based on the synthetic phonics letters and sounds programme required by the national curriculum of England and Wales.</p> <p>Reading books are also available for whole class guided reading on the whiteboard or for use on tablets/phones for small groups and even homework as the books are PDF format and can be emailed.</p>

<p>These 8 chapter books cover the complete phase 2 phonics letters and sounds curriculum.</p> <p>They work on whiteboards, tablets, can be emailed home for use on phones and can be printed off, providing a very versatile and accessible set of phonics readers.</p> <p>Each book introduces 4 new sounds - one per chapter<br /> The whole class read the book together from the whiteboard, saying the sounds they know and blending where the text indicates, (please see the video for a demonstration of how this works)/<br /> The books are well written and introduce extended vocabulary (listed at the end of each book) and use varied and complex sentences that are not usually accessible for young readers reading alone.</p> <p>Each day a chapter of the book is read and a new sound introduced. <p>This set of worksheets shows how each mathematical operation is used a cross a wide range of real life and mathematical circumstances.<br /> For instance, addition is used to find perimeter, or totals of money, or to combine fractions. Multiplication is used for area and scale.</p> <p>The PDF can be printed used as a book, seperate sheets or as a set of work cards that can be used in the classroom as fillers when children have finished a piece of work.</p> <p>The cards apply the four operations to all the areas of mathematics covered in KS1 and lower KS2.</p> <p>Children practice the four operations in the context of:<br /> money, fractions, handling data, ratio, map reading/co-ordinates, shape, time, algebra and word problems.</p> <p>I print off all the cards and put them in a box so children take a card if they have finished their work or we have a set time when the children work on the cards independently.</p> <p>The cards can also be purchased as the book ‘Mentor Me Maths’ available on Amazon</p> <p>I tend to ask them to work on one topic -so do all the addition, subtraction, multiplication and division in the fraction set but they could be used for practising one particular operation or randomly.</p>
