This was originally intended to go with expo 1 and is a simple introduction to French prepositions using pictures of a cat as a memory aid. I have found year 7 classes responded well to this and liked the cat theme! On the slide with a grid of 6 numbered pictures I have played pass the parcel. I put lots of scraps of paper with the numbers 1-6 in a box and pass it round the room to French accordian music. When the music stops the pupil holding the box pulls out a nuber and has to say the relevant French sentence. Works a treat every time! Please leave feedback :)

Guess who grid suitable for use with any MFL class as no Spanish/French words are used. Names could be changed to more authentic French/Spanish names. Just print and laminate!

This is just a set of slightly silly posters I made to help teach and eximplify PEE/PEA (point explain analyse) in a memorable way. I have printed and laminated mine and have them stuck in the classroom. Some could also be printed smaller to stick in exercise books. Taken from a book by Ian Gilbert this powerpoint is a set of deliberately unanswerable questions that can be used at the start or end of a lesson to stiumlate thinking and provoke discussion. I use these questions with year 8 English as think-> pair-> share activities which they really enjoy.

Includes a classroom display of commonly misspelt/confused homophones, a test/homework activity on their/there/they're and you're/your as well as a whole class activity to practice using homophones correctly. For 'The Big Homophone Challenge' print out the sheets and then cut into numbered sections. Place these around the classroom with lined paper as 'stations' and get the pupils to move around the room writing their own sentences underneath. PowerPoint presentation for introducing and drilling avoir with a year 7 class. Links to 'la famille' with the intention of getting pupils to carry out a class survey. Uses the Beckhams and other celebrities as an example and focuses on question &'as-tu des freres ou des soeurs?

**This has been updated with the 2012/2013 changes to the specification in Wales** Useful at the start of term with year 10/11 to explain how GCSE English Language and Literature are structured. This also contains details of our scheme of work which you would probably want to delete/change. The word documents are summaries of the spec which can be displayed in the classroom of handed out to pupils/parents. This is probably only relevant to Welsh centres as is based around WALES ONLY spec. and CPD.

This simple worksheet is intended to accompany another contributor's excellent powerpoint on Easter in France. To avoid death by powerpoint I like to give pupils a worksheet so that they have something to do or get out of the presentation. This could also be a nice homework or quick web quest. <p>Just a bit of fun, here is a scaffolded Spanish valentines love letter which multiple choice suggestions. Pupils can select a/b/c and then write up their letter. They could swap letters with each other and then translate…</p>

A Spanish PowerPoint presentation suitable for a year 10 class. Links to listos 3 and topic of 'me siento mal.&' Introduces &';los remedios' vocabulary and verbs dar, poner, necesitar. The last section of the PowerPoint is intended as an interactive AFL activity. The pupils should each have laminated A.B.C.D cards and can hold them up to vote for their &'diagnosis.&'; This allows all pupils to simultaneously answer every question.

This powerpoint is based around the metro 1/expo 1 topic on describing hair and eye colour. Also included is a grid for a metro 1 listening exercise to save the pupils all writing it out! At the end of the powerpoint is a multiple choice style activity to test the pupils understanding of the topic so far. Please leave feedback!

A simple step by step worksheet aimed at explaining to year 7 why the French do not need to use apostrophe s. This explains and practices the 'le sac de mon frere' structure. Any feedback greatly appreciated!

This is a general knowledge style quiz adapted from another contributer's powerpoint. It works well as a webquest for a low ability year 9, an introduction to studying French in year 7 or a research style homework. These documents contain a pairs game I have made using simple French words, colour coordinated into masculine and feminine. It is best printed and laminated so it lasts longer and makes a nice starter or plenary as well as a possible 'station' in a carousel lesson. Feedback much appreciated :)
