This AC3.1 Criminology lesson focuses on examining the validity of information in media reporting. Students will develop critical thinking skills, analyze real-life case studies, and apply evaluation methods to assess reliability. The package includes a full lesson plan, student workbook, and interactive activities aligned with WJEC Level 3 Criminology standards.
This is lesson 1 of 4. It provides an introduction to different information sources and primes them to be able to assess the validity of the sources effectively. The second part of the lesson focuses on examining the media for validity.
The bundle includes PowerPoint, Student Workbook and detailed teacher notes / lesson plan. Once the lesson is completed the workbook can be used in the Unit 3 Controlled Assessment.

The notes made in this booklet are compliant with WJEC’s guidance on controlled assessments therefore, students could take it into the assessment with them.
