Thank you for providing this incredible free resource! As educators we have a responsibility to teach our students about impactful moments in history. This resource provides an insightful and thoughtful recount of the events of 9/11, while also effectively teaching language devices. This is an invaluable resource for English teachers!
What a lovely way of channeling poetry into a discussion of a turning-point in our modern history. It is a helpful and insightful blend of poetric structure and world issues that is accessible for a variety of students. It is sensitively created, yet still carries a heavy and vital impact.
This resource is so detailed and helps students to explore and analyse with thought. I think this is an important poem to explore because it offers pupils a different perspective on something that is difficult to understand. It encourages debate and conversation in the classroom. I think it is incredibly important to expose students to poems like this that make us question the world around us and encourage an empathetic response.
This is such a valuable resource, not only for rich poetry analyses but for perspective. Whilst delivering this lesson, progressive conversations emerged which challenged students' thinking and encouraged them to be empathetic . Literature of this nature is such an invaluable resource; it enables students to think beyond their circumstances and to consider different perspectives/experiences. The encouragement of consideration beyond personal circumstance was what underpinned this lesson. Thank you for a fantastic resource!
