Lesson 1: Mon Enfance. Lower Ability and Higher Ability included.
Lesson 2: La Maison Hantée. Lower Ability and Higher Ability included.
(Please note: One lesson does contain a listening task from Studio 1 AQA GCSE Foundation, but the answers are on the slide so this could be read aloud by the teacher if you don’t have access to Studio)
2 lessons to teach/revise the imperfect tense. Lesson 1 covers ‘Mon enfance’ and describing your childhood. I asked students to bring in a childhood photograph if they wished and we glued copies into their books and then created a paragraph about their childhood in French underneath (writing frame included in the lesson). For the second lesson (the Haunted House lesson) I encouraged students to bring in orange and purple colouring pencils/crayons, or spooky pictures from the internet, or halloween stickers, a witches hat or scary prop etc. Students gathered the vocabulary from a scaffolded reading task and then I let them put on their prop and write their own story, then decorate the page. I gave out chocolate skulls to the best storytellers and we’re planning on recording some students reading out their own stories (with spooky filters and background music) next week, in time for Halloween. Hope it saves you some time and your students enjoyed it as much as I did.
