LESSON 15-16 IN THE BOND UNIT: LICENSE TO SKILL is an lesson that can be delivered over a DOUBLE lesson LIVE in the classroom or on TEAMS? ONLINE platforms via home learning as I did . I taught this resource after I had completed teaching of the SECTION A content on ‘TMWTGG’ and ‘SPECTRE’, at the end of a Half Term. The feedback I received from students was overwhelming positive.
The concept:
Today’s lesson will see you travel to exotic locations, be shot at, thwart plans of world domination and encounter people outside of your bubble. Never mind rule of six, it’s the rule of 007 you need to be concerned with.
So, pay attention and prepare to be shaken and hopefully stirred from staring at a computer screen home learning all day.
YOUR MISSION:
You have all been assigned 00 status On Her Majesty’s Secret Service. You now have a License to Kill… or rather eliminate media tasks. Your mission, accompany Bond on a mission and aide him along the way.
Why? Each mission will have an iconographic artefact/character from the franchise to unlock. Be the first to complete the task successfully and you’ll be awarded the artefact.
The person with the most artefacts at the end of the mission win’s a very special prize. And if it’s a tie? Well Bond has plan for everything and there really is No Time to Tie.
Be careful however, some of your fellow 00’s are double-agents working for SPECTRE. Trust no one. So, keep your Goldeneye’s peeled and let’s have Thunderball.
The resource is made up of missions where students are granted 00 status and help Bond to solve Media Language, Representation and Context clues/ missions. The student who is the fastest trigger wins artefacts from the Bond franchise with bonus rounds also providing artefacts.
This lesson by far got the biggest engagement and excitement levels up from my students. They loved it and I really enjoyed planning it/ delivering it.
