These STEM based activities have been designed with the key component being ‘critical thinking.’ There is no minimum age for these activities, younger students will need a little more supervision and the step-by-step guides read to them.
A good opportunity to observe fine motor skills with younger students!
Bat Flying - Yes a little Halloween. I have incorporated this with a lesson on nocturnal animals.
Your students are to design and create a bat with the limited materials supplied.
Salt Crystal Leaves - Your students will learn to crystallise leaves with salt. Step-by-step guide included. I have incorporated this as part of a science lesson in the past. Measuring different quantities of salt and the time for crystallisation. Also whether it works with cold water.
Skeletal Bone Bridge - Your students will build a bridge testing for strength and length using Q-tips.
All craft supplies are items you would have in your classroom!
