WITH ANSWERS

Three worksheets requiring students to apply the V = IR equation to series and parallel circuit problems.

  • Worksheet 1 - V = IR Formula Grid; simple problems requiring students to manipulate the equation to find voltage, current or resistance. Extension questions use SI prefixes.
  • Worksheet 2 - V = IR Series Circuit Problems; applying V = IR to series circuits. Two sides of questions. An extension task requires students to use simultaneous equations.
  • Worksheet 3 - V = IR Parallel Circuit Problems; applying V = IR to parallel circuits. Two sides of questions. An extension task looks at a complicated circuit, with combinations of resistors in parallel with other resistors in series.

Answers are included for each worksheet.

I use the worksheets for my IGCSE and GCSE Physics classes, and as introductions for my A-level Physics class, in electricity and electrical circuits topics.

NIce question sheets, but if it is being used by someone teaching outside their specialty it would be good to give them the answers on a seperate sheet.
