Students will read and analyze the beliefs of abolitionists during the period before the Civil War, read and analyze the provisions of the Wilmot Proviso and the effectual creation of the Free-Soil Party.
Adheres to Social Studies Common Core Standards - research, application, literacy, vocabulary
Differentiation: scaffolding questions, common core aligned reading analysis, close reading, cooperative (may work with a partner(s) according to teacher's discretion for scaffolding questions and activities)
