This is a 10-15 minute introduction to adoption and fostering. It is suitable for an assembly or for tutor time in KS3 - KS5 (ages 11-18, Years 7-13) and was originally a PSHE tutor time session for Year 11 but could be lengthened easily to fit a whole lesson. This covers the definitions of adoption and fostering, the process and law involved and the reasons why some people choose to adopt or foster children. There are two short downloaded video clips that will never disappear and some discussion questions designed to allow students to debate this important issue.
