Great end-of-term activity that provides plenty of consolidation of basic algebra skills, while being disguised as “fun”.

To solve the murder, students must complete five short activities covering:

  • Collecting like terms
  • Expanding single brackets (including expanding and simplifying multiple single brackets)
  • Solving one- and two-step equations
  • Finding an expression for the nth term of a sequence.
  • Substitution

Each activity reveals a clue, each clue allows students to eliminate half of the potential “suspects” until only one remains.
