Apostrophes for Contractions Worksheets

Ten different worksheets of varying challenge levels to work on being able to use apostrophes for contraction/ apostrophes for omission.

The ten different worksheets vary in challenge to ensure there is something for everyone, including:

• A simple matching task
• Changing phrases into the contracted form (or vice versa on one work sheet)
• Rewriting sentences to change phrases into the contracted form
• Sentence level task
• Identifying errors
• Working on multiple choice reasoning questions

Answer sheets are included for all ten activities.

These are very much ready to print and go as they are with the only requirement being to decide the level of challenge you want to bring to pupils. Worksheets are attached with UK and US spellings.

Alongside the activities, there are two supporting sheets. One is a poster style document that can be used with individuals or for display, whilst there are also support structure strips that can be trimmed and stuck into books to provide a scaffold with support around vocabulary and examples.
