There texts are engaging for young people however there are a few errors which caused some confusion and may need to be changed. The PP stresses the importance of using terminology in question 2 when terminology is not needed for this question. Also for Question 3 the line numbers in the question don't match up with the ones used in the model. I found there could have been more focus on figurative language and effect on the reader rather than word class. I do like how thorough these resources are however these inaccuracies could cause some confusion for students.

Hello Nicky
I'm sorry you weren't happier with the resource. I always include terminology in answers even when it isn't needed as it's part of drilling students to use "subject terminology", but as you rightly say, it isn't need in that case. As for the model answer, it wasn't intended to refer to the line numbers you mentioned as that would have excessively supported the response; it was a model using a different section.
Hello NICKY_S_96
The line numbers issue that you mention is because you seem to have misunderstood that the model answer I use is on a different section of the text to avoid giving the answer away; it's intended as a model. As for your point about it being unnecessary to use the terminology in this question, you are quite right, but I'm trying to constantly reinforce awareness of the terminology as it's very necessary elsewhere--no marks are lost here for using it.
Hello a_welstead. I'm sorry that one star was all that you felt was appropriate for this resource. I've sold 133 copies of this series of lessons and this is the first bad review I've had--in my experience, people are less likely to review if they are happy so it looks as though most people are happy . I can't help but wonder if one star was a mistake as everyone I know who uses this in mine and other departments loves it. I'm sorry if it doesn't meet your needs.
Best wishes,
