AQA GCSE PE overview of 6 chapters, visual revision mind ma and knowledge checklist for both papers
For each of the 6 chapters for the NEW AQA GCSE Spec:
Paper 1: Human body
1: Applied anatomy & physiology
2: Movement analysis
3: Physical training
Paper 2: Socio-cultural factors
4: Sports Psychology
5: Socio-cultural factors
6:Health, fitness and well-being
There is a visual mindmap that breaks down each chapter into smaller manageable chunks / topics e.g. chapter 1 is sub-divided into 1a) skeletal, 1a) muscular, 1b) cardiovascular, 1b) respiratory, 1c) aerobic and anaerobic and effects of exercise.
For each sub-section there are key words and a checklist of what students are expected to be able to do / know for there exam. I used this for students to work together to try and define, explain and apply each section / topic of the chapter to specific sporting examples / performances.
A checklist of questions / tasks covering the whole chapter for students to assess their strengths and areas of weakness for each topic and then work through each question to consolidate learning / understanding.
I used the numbered cards (1-6) as a starting point of which chapter each student started at and then gave students a specified time at each chapter and then rotated them around to add onto previous groups knowledge to cover all 3 assessment objectives and 6 chapters!
I hope you find these resources helpful and they save you time!
