This is a full lesson (36 slides) that includes a range of revision activities, starter, activities and plenary to prepare students for their paper 1 creative writing section focusing on storm writing.

Starts with a Wordle activity to focus the lesson around the importance of revision.

What is the point of punctuation? Students will see the impact and effect of punctuation and what happens when you don’t use it.

Grade 9 opening hook paragraph teaching them the importance of writing for impact.

Revision table getting students to recall language technique definition and write sentences demonstrating that technique. This will follow on with a writing task where they can apply what they have just learnt.

Plenary: Back to the board game.
