  • I usually begin each school year by reminding the children of the 3 primary colours: Red, yellow and blue.
  • Then they use the colour wheels to make secondary colours:
  • Red + yellow = orange
  • Red and blue = purple
  • Yellow and blue = green
  • Colour mixing wheels are ideal for art lessons especially if you are trying to make different ‘shades’ of a colour.
  • I’ve also attached another activity for making different colours.
