This flipchart was designed for a Year 8 class (set 2 out of 4) and would be suitable for any students who have previously covered averages and need extending.
The first lesson briefly recaps calculating averages before moving on to compiling lists of numbers that will give a particular mean and finding missing numbers given an incomplete list and the mean. The second lesson covers moving averages and lessons 3 and 4 cover means from tables.
It is not a very whizzy lesson, but has plenty of opportunities for self and peer assessment, as well as group and individual practise. Answers are included for most, if not all problems!
