Lesson covers the three candidates in 1066 who wanted to be king after the death of king Edward. Students will be creating a piece of persuasive writing from the point of view from one of the men stated reasons why they should be king.

This lesson is excellent for persuasive writing literacy teaching and teaching prior to the Battle of Hastings.

The lesson explores the reasons why the three men wanted to be King with an end to introducing the Battle of Hastings.
