A worksheet covering the amount of energy to break bonds. The sheet consists of four different questions that get progressively more difficult as more and more of the scaffolding is taken away.
If you go through the first one as an example and then let the pupils get on with the rest before bringing them back together as a group to go through the answers you are looking at taking 30 to 40 minutes depending on the strength of the group.
I am not a scientist, I have approached this from a Maths perspective and trying to make it as easy as possible by filling in simple tables.

Perfect - I was looking for a resource with a simple layout for a low ability group and this is ideal!
Love the way this document is laid out. The structures of the molecules clearly show how many bonds there are. I've changed a couple of bond energies to match another power point. The carbon double bond (602), carbon oxygen bond (799) and the hydroxide bond (464). Not sure which bond energy is right. Although it doesn't really matter as long as the pupils can calculate bond energies. So thanks for such a brill work sheet.
