Created by Voiceless, the animal protection institute, Animal Protection Education (APE) provides students and teachers with the information they need to understand how chicken meat is produced in Australia, and the welfare issues associated with these production methods.

With all the resources linked to the Australian Curriculum, teachers from a range of subjects are able to educate high school students from Years 7-10. APEs are designed to promote critical thinking through scientifically backed research coupled with a variety of classroom activities.

The Broiler Chicken Welfare Fact Sheet provides all the information that teachers need to facilitate lessons on Broiler Chicken Welfare in the classroom.

Accompanying resources include:

  • Lesson plans for Science, Civics and Citizenship and Arts subjects;
