The 2009 winner, City of Lincoln Council is again in contention to win the Large Employer Award. First launched in 1995, the Council's Apprenticeship programme now employs 25 apprentices per year in a range of disciplines, including customer services, accountancy and horticulture. There are 160 former apprentices employed by the Council. As well as providing a skilled workforce, they enable a high level of customer service and mean succession planning is excellent
