Lesson plan:
INTRODUCTION: Ask students to read their paragraph on colour, looking for use of key words. Ask what colour is light? – think, pair, share.
DEVELOPMENT AND PERSONALISATION:
Show video which explains the refraction of light through a prism. Stop video to show point out incident ray, refracted ray, dispersion and spectrum.
Task – 3 questions based on video, think pair share. AFL – move around class to hear group answers.
Recap on wavelength, explain colour wavelength. Mnemonic for short blue wavelength, blue bends best.
Video to describe primary and secondary colours.
Task - 2 questions to consider while watching video
PLENARY:
Word fill to use key words in full sentences. AFL – check answers with students and ask to green pen mark. Check how many correct answers there were around room.
