The activities are broken up into three section which are:

• Holler Mountain
• The Food Problem

The activities allow the students to reflect on the story and extend their understanding of the themes within this text. There are nine worksheets, three for each section.

This resource has been designed in this manner as this is the type of book that is often used for reading / literacy groups. This allows for the work to be completed as the students work their way through the text.

Each chapter contains a worksheet which includes comprehension questions, another worksheet with a vocabulary focus and a writing activity.
