There are a variety of ways to bring a class to a standstill so that you have their attention. A really exciting way is to use a song or tune that also provides a stimulating learning environment. Using a tune that lasts for around 3 minutes provides excellent pace. This strategy works particularly well with noisy, boisterous or simply excitable classes.
