This single sheet demonstrates the fascinating comparison of the photo-joiner made by Hockney on location in California. The single viewpoint of the static camera contrasts vividly with the same view reconstructed in the joiner technique.Hockney recreated the spatial experience of looking at the view which he argues is more truthful to our perceptual activity than a one eyed static representation.

I'm pleased it was helpful. Explains the very different perspectives that Hockney's creative use of collage makes in comparison to the single viewpoint of the camera lens. Have you seen the original version? It has been in London twice recently.
