I made this lesson to use with a Year 7 mixed ability group although it could be easily adapted for other groups. It contains a full lesson PowerPoint plus evidence pack resources.
This isn't too great. There is no explanation for how to use the evidence, and the tasks are not very active.

You give your students the evidence and ask them to speculate about the fate of the World Cup. This is an incredibly active and lively task that in my experience generates a real buzz from students as they discuss theories about what each bit of evidence could mean. There is usually a good deal of disagreement which leads to excellent debate before the actual fate of the World Cup is revealed. I have found this a really valuable lesson for students to question evidence, develop critical thought and work together to problem solve.
