A full lesson and resources that assess the learning from previous lessons on castle features and attacking and defence methods.
This lesson is based around the siting of a castle in our locality, yet can be easily adapted to match your own area. Students are to initially decide on the best location for a castle using the landscape shown on the student printable diagram on slide21. Interactive powerpoint will give feedback based on their choices.

Students to then link this in choosing site in local are which can easily be adapted to your own area.

Students are to then to under-go a decision making task and buy a series of features all linking to a number of gold coins, using their 'money' to build the most effective castle. More advanced defensive features are worth more gold coins. This booklet is printable, all on slides 16-20. Students will then design their castle and peer, self or teacher what went well and even better if comments can be highlighted to give feedback.

Interactive review activity will, depending on the effectiveness of their choices will enable students to either lose or gain crowns.
