Differentiated powerpoint on solving equations which involve expanding brackets.

Start the class by working through the first tree slides, which are colour coded, green, amber and red.

You could use the first question to model, second for students to try themselves or even better get the whole class to attempt on mini whiteboards, or get a student to the front.

Page 4,5,6 need to be printed (and cut) beforehand - they are also colour coded and contain dominoes activities that go with the examples you have already worked through - some students may choose to start green, some amber - very few red. once they have completed an activity they can move to the next set of dominoes.

This PowerPoint activity can be supplemented with worksheets, a textbook resource, or can be extended for the very clever students, to develop their own dominoes for others to try.
