I'm sorry you feel that way. The main focus for the unit of work was to consider social and historical contexts of the novel so I'm not sure what you mean about being "irrelevant". As for "vague", as with every scheme of work, it is open to differentiating for your own classes' needs rather than being too prescriptive or limiting.
