This lesson teaches students about the types of domestic violence people can experience and requires students to match different behaviours. The lesson also includes a case study story whereby students have to analyse the story and identify the level and types of abuse to the different stages of abuse. Students also have to categorise and evaluate the impacts of domestic violence on relationships, children, the family home, mental health and physical health. Comprehension skills are also tested as students have to create their own knowledge organiser using a factsheet that details the law and specific help available for people living with domestic violence.

PowerPoint and resources are in comic sans, with size 14 font and slides have a yellow background to ensure that it is SEN inclusive. The lesson includes differentiated learning tasks that challenge students to be critical thinkers. The lesson includes assessment for learning opportunities and develops wider literacy skills.
The PowerPoint has teacher notes with suggested teaching ideas and questioning, as well as suggested timings. The Lesson and resources are non-specialist friendly.
