A lesson on classroom vocabulary based on Dynamo 1, Module 1, Unit 2 (voici ma salle de classe!). Every task has an extension task to cater for the more able students.
STARTER: students are presented with the indefinite articles un, une, des and need to work out the difference between them (masculine/feminine/plural).
LANGUAGE INPUT: teachers presents classroom vocabulary from this unit. A small grammar point is made for the liaison (eg. des élèves).
TASK 1: students are given a photo of a classroom and need to describe in writing what they see using the format ‘sur la photo il y a…’. Although this lesson is meant for KS3 students, this is good practice for the picture task in the GCSE exam.
TASK 2: listening task where people say what there is in their classroom. A transcript is provided for those teachers without access to Active Learn.
PLENARY: a memory game that can be used an assessment for learning opportunity.
