Geography lesson focused on how countries gain independence, focusing on the example of East Timor, one of the world's newest countries. Features a starter 'place wheel' to allow pupils to gain a sense of what East Timor is like, using a video to help. The lesson then runs through the stages of becoming a country before looking at how East Timor did, with a storyboard pro forma sheet for pupils to visualise East Timor's tale.
