This is a 15-20 minute assembly about emergency first aid. It covers how to perform CPR and stop heavy bleeding. This is suitable for KS3-KS5 (Ages 11-18, Years 7-13, Grade 6-12) and can be used as a tutor time session, PSHE or Citizenship lesson or Health whole school assembly.

It fits into the new RSE and Health Curriculum of 2020 but can be used for other purposes to teach people these important life saving skills.

It includes:

  • What CPR is
  • How to perform CPR
  • How to stop bleeding when someone is bleeding heavily
  • What a defribrillator is
  • Infographics to remind students of first aid
  • Dual coding and discussion task

This does not include any written activities but ends in a discussion task about whether you should give anyone who needs it CPR. There may be BBC links in that only work in the UK.

This was originally used for a Year 11 PSHE tutor time session about emergency first aid after an introduction to CPR earlier in the year and in school.

Please look at my other resources for plenty of assemblies, tutor time sessions and lessons about Health, RSE, PSHE, Citizenship and RE.
