This resource is a fully differentiated lesson aimed at teaching the new AQA GCSE Physics and Trilogy Physics specification, and links to the Energy and Energy resources module, leading on from the Changes in Energy Stores lesson.

This lesson has 5 learning objectives that are structured in the IDEAL format:

*Identify forms of useful and waste energy.

*Describe the useful and wasted energy by reading Sankey diagrams.

*Explain the energy transfers in a system by producing a Sankey diagram.

*Apply calculation to work out the efficiency of a device.

*Link ideas of design to explain how you could improve the efficiency of a device.

This lesson is designed with a challenge objective and challenge questions throughout to stretch your most able students, whilst supporting your LA students.
