Lesson begins with testing students ability to collect like-terms (simplify expressions). Presentation slides include scaffolds to support students in their journey to expand brackets. Includes a matching activity to help with the understanding of key terms (literacy). The slides are structured to ensure there is plenty of opportunity to conduct AfL, which leads onto a main activity that is clearly differentiated to ensure all students make good progress.
