Working in groups or individually, students cut out the tummy of the owls. On the tummy is a polynomial function. Students factor the 3 functions into their linear and irreducible factors. Once they have the functions factored, they find the owls’ body parts that match the factors. Students cut the parts out, glue them together, and color them the colors of their choice. Students can then hang them around the classroom.

Grading is easy since each body part is different. If the owls do not match the answer key exactly you know the students may need additional practice.
