Fantastic and Strange

This resource is aimed at yr 9 or year 10 students to promote the exploration of a new theme. The students learn the research process through creating a design board, learning about art movements such as surrealism and then looking at how to incorporate abstract and collage art through the artists they choose. Students then researching both contemporary and historic artists, critiquing them in a group setting before researching them in their sketchbooks.
The students them work towards a final piece beginning with guided design idea prompts.
