French Greetings / Introductions Games

Beginners KS2 / KS3 (Year 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8) French speaking games for Greetings (Les salutations), Farewells and Introductions (Saying your Names, Ages, Where I Live etc), also known as Je me presente (Introducing myself): a board game, six 10-card loop games, a jigsaw puzzle, a 36-card active oral game and a vocabulary support page. These resources will help you plan multiple lessons.

 
My FSL / MFL French basics resources and units suit students beginning French, near beginners (and intermediate learners for revision) in:
* Upper Primary (Key Stage 2) - Year 4, 5, 6 (Y4 Y5 Y6)
* Secondary (Key Stage 3) - especially Year 7 and 8 (Y7 / Y8)
* Equivalents such as Core French

Instructions included.

Practise saying 'hello' and 'goodbye' (Bonjour, Salut, Au revoir, A bientot etc.) and asking and answering questions such as 'Ca va?' (How are you?), 'Comment tu t'appelles?' (What's your name?), 'Quel age as-tu?' (How old are you?), 'Ou habites-tu?' (Where do you live?) and 'Tu es de quelle nationalite?' (What's your nationality?).

BOARD GAME
Students roll a dice and say aloud in French the word, phrase or question they land on. 3 versions included (with minor changes around nationality and country to suit different locations).

LOOP GAMES
For oral practice in small groups. A student reads out the English word or phrase on their card and others check if they have the French translation, then read this out - and so on until the loop is completed.

JIGSAW PUZZLE
Print, laminate and cut the 16 triangular pieces. Students match French vocabulary with English translations to build a larger triangle.

ORAL GAME CARDS:
Give a card to each student. The questions Comment tu t'appelles?, Quel age as-tu? and Ou habites-tu? will be asked and answered as students circulate, trying to find themselves! To make locations featured more relevant, there's 3 versions (UK and Ire, US and Canada, and Aus / NZ).
