This BUNDLE of 68 pages includes these 2 individual resource packs, which can be bought separately if you prefer:
French Reading Comprehension Worksheets
- Features 8 short texts, with vocabulary and phrases from these topics: Greetings and Introductions, Family and Pets, Sports and Hobbies and Describing People (Physical Appearance and Character Traits)
- All 8 worksheets are included at 2 levels
- The one-star versions contain the same text but are for less experienced or lower ability learners and contain multiple-choice questions
- The two-star versions feature more challenging questions
- Answer keys for all 16 are included
- Teacher instruction page at the end of the file
- Text is in French and the questions are in English
- Students could look up any words they don’t know
- There are 3 PDF files in the Zip file, one with UK English spelling versions, one with US spelling, and a Canadian version. The Canadian version also has the word ‘marron’ to describe brown eyes replaced with ‘bruns’ in worksheet 7, the only place where this is relevant. Many other French speakers use ‘marron’, which is used on the version of worksheet 7 in the other files.
French Vocabulary Revision Worksheets
- 8 fun grid puzzles worksheets featuring vocabulary from topics such as Body Parts, Calendar, Clothing, Colours, Describing People, Family, Food and Drink, Greetings and Introductions, Numbers, Pets, School and Classroom Vocabulary, Sport and Hobbies, and Weather
- 3 versions of each puzzle so you can choose, depending on age, experience and ability
- 1-star versions have some of the letters added to the grid to support students
- 2-star versions just have the first letter of each word
- 3-star versions (hardest) feature entirely blank grids
- Students translate numbered English words and enter into the grid. The letters in the shaded boxes, reading from top to bottom, form a French sentence. Students write this sentence on the lines at the bottom of the page, placing one letter on each dash (slashes are used to separate the words), and translate it
- Full answer keys
- Vocabulary list to support students who require it
- Teacher instruction page
- Consider having students work on these puzzles in groups or mixed ability pairs
- To use again and again, consider laminating puzzles and use dry-wipe pens
- Students could be encouraged to use French dictionaries or the Internet to search for unfamiliar words or spellings.
