This resource has been designed for students working towards Functional Skills Maths qualifications at Entry Level 2. It contains an age-appropriate, editable, 50-slide Powerpoint lesson and a 28-page workbook on addition (outcome 5 - add two-digit numbers).
Powerpoint Lesson
The PowerPoint clearly and visually explains how to add together two-digit numbers with and without exchange. It provides many opportunities for pupils to practise the skill. The PowerPoint also contains a number of ‘real life’ word problems where pupils are required to use addition to solve them. It is ideal to introduce the addition component of the Entry Level 2 specification and for revision purposes.
Workbook
The workbook contains 6 information/explanation, 19 worksheets, a progress check, a certificate of achievement and answers. The workbook will help pupils to achieve the following outcomes:
to add two-digit numbers.
to use addition to solve word problems
