A substantial scheme of work to be taught over about 6 hours to enable students to explore the theme and develop their devising skills through various dramatic techniques such as still image, role play, movement, choral work and characterisation.
This scheme allows the students to explore the concepts of private and public insanity, mental health and the social, cultural and historical aspects of the perception and treatment of insanity.
The scheme of work has connected warm-ups and games and practical exploration tasks. Pair and group work activities are included and tasks are in response to three stimuli, a painting, a poem and a play text.
