This lesson covers the nature and extent of the Puritan challenge to Queen Elizabeth I’s Religious Settlement with a focus on the vestment and crucifix issues. It also explains why the Puritan threat was limited.

This lesson has been updated in line with the 2025 amended specification and changes to some exam questions.
