This is a detailed lesson and PowerPoint explaining how an electric loudspeaker works. This is the fifth lesson in the Electromagnetism unit of work (P7).

The lesson recaps sound, longitudinal waves, frequency and amplitude and then applies them to a moving coil speaker, building on the knowledge of the motor force and solenoids from the previous lessons in the chapter. There are two PowerPoints either with or without the short 5 second video clip of the practical so that the 26MB download is optional.

Ideas for differentiation, discussion, research and homework also included in lesson plan.
