Ghost Story Model Text

This is a ‘Ghost Story’ model text that I wrote for my Year 5 class.
I couldn’t find any useful short model texts, so created my own of a suitable length and “scare factor”.
It follows a six-part story structure to follow along with the Jonathan Bond English “scheme” we are using at my school.
There is a heavy emphasis on building atmosphere and tension in order to help meet Year 5 writing objectives including:

-Create atmosphere.
-Build tension.
-Carefully select words to create effects, sustain and develop ideas and create vivid description.
-Vary the way sentences begin.
-Orchestrate a range of sentence structures.
