Grammar Activities - Passives - Intermediate/Advanced Adult ESL Lessons

This is a grammar focused lesson for adult ESL students with a mix of written and spoken practise. It is designed for students who are intermediate level and above. It focuses on the form/structure and use of the passive voice. It is a low prep/ready to go lesson with content that is interesting and relevant for adult students.

This lesson can be used with a class - there are opportunities for differentiation if necessary; as an independent learning package or with online students.

Activities are a mix of individual, pair and group work.

There are lots of elements and prior knowledge required to form the passive voice, so I’ve included a review of:

• past participles,
• verb tenses
• how to conjugate the verb “to be” in a all tenses (this is something students find quite tricky)

Very low preparation -just need to cut out cards for one activity. All the rest is print and go.
