For the teacher who wants to brighten and enrich the curriculum, young children love to learn about real life animals, especially ones that are strange and interesting. The story map is based on the poem transcript bats at the beach, an excellent resource to learn a story/poem, ideal for young children. It is really important to follow the story map with the children encouraging them to think of their own actions to bring it to life. The bat fact sheet is also great learning through actions to enable to children to internalise the facts in a more fun way.
