Second lesson on Shakespeare’s Ophelia from Hamlet. This lesson looks at Ophelia’s character after her father, Polonius, has died.
Students watch different versions of the same scene and discuss the differences in the way that her character is portrayed, as well as the reasons behind these differences. Students work up towards considering the social and political implications of her portrayal in a scene from the film ‘Ophelia’.
