This pack on healthy eating includes a 5-page workbook, a 9-page ‘own habits log’, a document with suggestions for use and differentiation, the Eatwell Guide illustration itself, picture cards and word cards.
Throughout, learners are reminded of what food and drink items contribute to healthy nutrition and therefore a balanced diet.
Use the picture and word cards to enable learners to recognise the items used in the Eatwell Guide. Follow this up by letting them work through the workbook and study the different categories of food and drink, the good and the bad…
Project: Learners can then move on to completing their own personal log by reflecting on their nutritional intake, working out the percentage of how many items in each category they consume on average and how their own Plate would look if they drew the segments according to their own diet. Time for reflection…
